Weak Signal strength from your router?

Aluminium foil will do the trick. Here's my router with its foil facing my PS3. 15-20% signal strength increase. It cost like... 10 cents?

And with DD-WRT firmware to upgrade my TCP/IP connections from default d-link's 400 to 4096, it is now invincible.

Reading my local "Newpaper" for a couple of days, I realised the football section's editors pretty much hate Grant, blaming him for Mourinho's departure. They finally did it; Grant's orh-pi-sai pic for a Chelsea story.

Happy Anniversary to myself.

One more day to seven years but we are no more. I do not regret it, for happiness is everything.

I still remember the iced peppermint coffee, the calming sea breeze, the bloody roaches and the hug like it was yesterday.

It was electricity that swallowed my heart.

We enjoyed the lousy radio while looking at the dark horizon.

There were no stars that night; maybe there were, but I did not care for its presence.

You were there.

But you are here no more. Just paintings. Pictures in my mind that should be forgotten.

Goodbye yesterday.

Couple of things; 1) My charitable face, 2) Great Bluray sales, 3) Haha Liver"pool-of-crap"

1) When I was in UK, 5 strangers came up to me and ask for stuff; 2 for money, 2 for cigs, and 1 black dude asking me for weed. Look what we've done in UK.

2) Amazon has great deals in this holiday season. They had a 1 for 1 Bluray deals for certain titles and I've got 300 and Bruce Lee's Enter the Dragon. Wanted to get Departed or Troy instead of Dragon but I've seen them twice each. Anyway Dragon's got 97% on Rotten Tomatoes, that has to be good.

Don't think, feeeeeeel! Lol.

3) Reading 3-1 Liverpool.

Goodbye Reuben

No miracle. My last words with Reuben was about a new teaser of Street Fighter 4 and how he liked those stylised graphics, and how fighting games are moving to 3D and how we would hate it if SF4 is in 3D.

Reuben. A pianist. A composer. A designer. A prodigy.

He was blooming into a legend. A pity that the world will not be able to gain from him, anymore.

Rest in Peace.

If I die, I doubt so many people would write so many good things about me:

LMAO Loser!!

I know I'm being the devil but this guy irritates me so much by passing and passing the ball non-stop. You still need another 100 years of training before I let you shoot one goal on target!

Mada Mada Da Ne.

Sick and Palm Reading

Reuben's news seem to have an impact on me. Fell sick immediately; having fever and cold atm. Read that Reuben's parents are in Cambodia now. I am still hoping for a miracle. He has a Superman body, mind you.

2nd impact was more concern about my life. I'm no longer living for myself. I cannot imagine how my Mom would feel if anything happened to me. I did a Palm reading at this funny site and here's the results.

Dear Nik,

Here is your personal palm reading! This will be a general reading of your palm, and what it says about you and your personality. Enjoy.

First let's take a look at your Life Line. You have the best kind of Life Line, long and clearly marked. This shows that you will possess good health (yah right), vitality and a very nice life expectancy (good can smoke more). The wavey quality of your Life Line does seem to indicate that you may experience variable health, and that you may not always be very energetic (haven't been energetic since forever). The wide swooping motion of your Life Line indicates strength, enthusiasm and an improved love life. The little lines you see extending upward from your Life Line are representative of your ability to recuperate. (when?!!)

Now let's see what your Head Line had to say. Your Head Line is deep, long and straight, stretching across the palm. This indicates a logical and direct way of thinking. The straighter the line, the more realistic the thinking, and the deeper the line, the better the memory. (100% correct!) The joining of your Head Line and Life Line at the beginning indicates that your strong sense of mind generally rules over your body. You also look at childhood with a cautious and fearful outlook. (yah my father so fierce)

The last line we'll look at is your Heart Line. A slight disregard to the true meaning of love and its responsibilities are indicated by a Heart Line like yours that starts between the middle and index finger. You tend to easily give your heart away. ( T_T Why!? )Your chained Heart Line is an indication that your life is sometimes bothered by emotional tensions. (now lor, that's why smoke mah)

You have a conical hand. This is often the type of hand shared by people who are more interested in theory than practice. This is the hand of the imaginative and creative spirit. Professions of people who share this type of hand usually include teacher, lawyer or artist. (yay!)

We hope that gives you a little more insight into your personality, and your palm. Thanks for visiting us.

An idea for OSD displays for cars' windshields

Using GPS and See through LCDs for Windshields, Maps and Road names can be displayed. It can also replace physical speedometers and rear mirrors. Best of all, the OSDs can be customizable, and passengers can even use part of the sceen to watch mobile TVs or movies. When the car is in park mode, the whole windshield can used as a screen for watching movies.

Note: For this idea, the LCD must allow a range of transparency and it is not certain if this technology is available. See through LCDs are being developed by Active Inc. http://www.engadget.com/2007/06/29/see-through-lcd-screen-developed/

Also, if all windows are equipped with such LCDs, all windows can have like 80% opaque (white) when the car is parked to reduce heat trapped in the car when parked under the sun. This idea comes from the LRTs' windows turning white when they are near buildings. Not having 100% opaque is for security reasons, like children being left in the car, etc.

The numbers continue to haunt me...

"555 — Buckle your seatbelts. A major life change is upon you. This change should not be viewed as being "positive" or "negative," since all change is but a natural part of life’s flow. Perhaps this change is an answer to your prayers, so continue seeing and feeling yourself being at peace. "

444 WUs - Folding@home

I'm gonna try to capture all the sequential numbers I've seen.
So this time it's 444. Based on http://nikdesign.blogspot.com/2007/09/111-222-333-444-555.html, it means:

"The angels are surrounding you now, reassuring you of their love and help. Don’t worry because the angels’ help is nearby."

111 222 333 444 555

I'm not sure why, but I keep seeing these numbers esp on clocks; on my laptop, my handphone, and the clock beside the fridge when I need food/drinks.

Did a google search and found this:
http://ananangel.com/kryonblog/2006/06/111-222-333-444.html

Number Sequences From The Angels

By Doreen Virtue, Ph.D.

The angels do their best to get our attention and to communicate with us. In this way, they help us heal our own lives. However, we often discount the signs they give us, writing them off as mere coincidences or our imagination. The angels say: "We can’t write our messages to you in the sky.

You’ve got to pay attention and believe when you see any patterns forming in your life — especially in response to any questions or prayers you’ve posed. When you hear the same song repeatedly or see the same number sequence, who do you think is behind this? Your angels, of course!"

Number Sequences

Your angels often communicate messages to you by showing you sequences of numbers. They do this in two ways. First, they subtly whisper in your ear so you’ll look up in time to notice the clock’s time or a phone number on a billboard. The angels hope you’ll be aware that you’re seeing this same number sequence repeatedly. For instance, you may frequently see the number sequence 111, and it seems everytime you look at a clockthe time reads 1:11 or 11:11.

The second way in which angels show you meaningful number sequences is by physically arranging for, say, a car to drive in front of you that has a specific license plate number they want you to see. Those who are aware of this phenomenon become adept at reading the meaning of various license plates. In this way, the angels will actually give you detailed messages. Here are the basic meanings of various number sequences. However, your own angels will tell you if your situation holds a different meaning for you. Ask your angels, "What are you trying to tell me?" and they’ll happily give you additional information to help decode their numeric meanings.

111 — Monitor your thoughts carefully, and be sure to only think about what you want, not what you don’t want. This sequence is a sign that there is a gate of opportunity opening up, and your thoughts are manifesting into form at record speeds. The 111 is like the bright light of a flash bulb. It means the universe has just taken a snapshot of your thoughts and is manifesting them into form. Are you pleased with what thoughts the universe has captured? If not, correct your thoughts (ask your angels to help you with this if you have difficulty controlling or monitoring your thoughts).

222 — Our newly planted ideas are beginning to grow into reality. Keep watering and nurturing them, and soon they will push through the soil so you can see evidence of your manifestation. In other words, don’t quit five minutes before the miracle. Your manifestation is soon going to be evident to you, so keep up the good work! Keep holding positive thoughts, keep affirming, and continue visualizing.

333 — The Ascended Masters are near you, desiring you to know that you have their help, love, and companionship. Call upon the Ascended Masters often, especially when you see the number 3 patterns around you. Some of the more famous Ascended Masters includes: Jesus, Moses, Mary, Quan Yin, and Yogananda.

444 — The angels are surrounding you now, reassuring you of their love and help. Don’t worry because the angels’ help is nearby.

555 — Buckle your seatbelts. A major life change is upon you. This change should not be viewed as being "positive" or "negative," since all change is but a natural part of life’s flow. Perhaps this change is an answer to your prayers, so continue seeing and feeling yourself being at peace.

666 — Your thoughts are out of balance right now, focused too much on the material world. This number sequence asks you to balance your thoughts between heaven and earth. Like the famous "Sermon on the Mount," the angels ask you to focus on spirit and service, and know your material and emotional needs will automatically be met as a result.

777 — The angels applaud you…congratulations, you’re on a roll! Keep up the good work and know your wish is coming true. This is an extremely positive sign and means you should also expect more miracles to occur.

888 — A phase of your life is about to end, and this is a sign to give you forewarning to prepare. This number sequence may mean you are winding up an emotional career, or relationship phase. It also means there is light at the end of the tunnel. In addition, it means, "The crops are ripe. Don’t wait to pick and enjoy them." In other words, don’t procrastinate making your move or enjoying fruits of your labor.

999 — Completion. This is the end of a big phase in your personal or global life. Also, it is a message to lightworkers involved in Earth healing and means, "Get to work because Mother Earth needs you right now."

000 — A reminder you are one with God, and to feel the presence of your Creator’s love within you. Also, it is a sign that a situation has gone full circle.

Alright Angels, send me a SMS next time, it's irritating to keep seeing those numbers.

My Lair review

Riding dragons in a war, with motion control is truly a dream come true for me. This game received many different ratings, from 4.5 to 9. Here's what I think.

Gameplay: 9/10
"WHAT THE ****!?" are my first thoughts when I first played the game. Using motion controls could be Factor 5's worst decision. However, after getting used to the controls, I would say they've nailed it. Please understand that controlling a dragon is like controlling a horse. You can't expect it to turn like a Ferrari could you?

The game missions are pretty straightforward. Your commander give you orders and you do as they say. Some people may be lost without a radar, but arrows are shown to tell you where to go, and the Rage vision when pressing (D pad) down allows you to see highlighted enemies in the messy warzone.

I would say gameplay is a 9 for me since I'm fine with the motion controls, but a 5 for those who can't get used to it. I understand that it might be fustrating at first, but hey, pilots don't just learn to fly a plane in 1 day.

Graphics: 9/10
Overall graphics and atmosphere are excellent; sharp and highly detailed. Using data and texture streaming, Factor 5 is able to squeeze in 2 GB of details into a level. Pretty amazing despite some people saying streaming doesn't work for PS3 because of the 1.5x slower (compared to 12x DVD) Bluray Drive. Rubbish. The load times are pretty fast as well.

Sound: 10/10
OMG. I expect the music to be good, but it is on par with movies like Lord of the Rings.

Value: 8/10
Lack of offline and online multiplayer, but it's single player missions are really fun and a dream come true for me.

Final conclusion:
Rent it first to see if you can get used to the controls. For those who gave up after a few mins, you don't know what you're missing out.

The Matrix has you. Damn Sony.

Been a long time since I last blogged. Was so busy at work and almost died from working 2 consecutive days in a row.

Here's some interesting news, Sony invented a battery that runs on Sugar.

Remember the movie Matrix? The machines have to use humans as an energy source after we've has blocked off solar power. After Sony's invention, they can now use sugar instead. >_<

F U back, Uwe Boll

You make crappy game movies, then you can't accept criticisms.

Wired wrote a review about the Postal movie and this is what Uwe Boll said:

"chris
your review shows me only that you dont understand anything about movies and that you are a untalented wanna bee filmmaker with no balls and no understanding what POSTAL is. you dont see courage because you are nothing. and no go to your mum and fuck her ...because she cooks for you now since 30 years ..so she deserves it.
people like you are the reason that independent movies have no chance anymore.
uwe boll
PS: POSTAL is R RATED . The MPAA understood the satire -- you not -- you dumb fuck"

First week in NAFA

This week is the start of my Multimedia design degree course with NAFA. Met some really nice people and it's very different from my diploma course in NYP. The lecturers are much more friendly and closer to us. The class will be divided into narrative and interactive. Narrative is more of story telling which focus on film and animation, while interactive is more of creating multimedia design for users to interact.

I was torn between the two as I'm into games design, and it's sort of an alchemy of both. I wanted to choose both but my lecturer decided I should go into interactive instead. I'll probably combine both for my works though.

The "Things missing from latest HP movie" is supposed to be in around 5 or 6 parts but I'm getting tired of writing it and wonders if anyone appreciates them.

Things missing from the Order of Phoenix movie (Part III)

Important events left out in the movie.

  • During one of Defense against Dark Arts classes, Hermione disagreed with some points in the textbook and Umbridge took 5 points away from Griffindor. Harry ask "What for?" angrily and Umbridge said "for disrupting my class with pointless interruptions." She mention Prof. Quirrell is the only teacher so far to have restricted himself to age-appropriate subjects. Harry retorted with "Yeah Quirrell was a great teacher, there was just that minor drawback of him having Lord Voldemort stick out of the back of his head." This earned him another week of detention.

  • Angelina shouted at Harry for getting into another detention which make him missed quidditch practise again with Prof. McGonagall taking away 5 points for Angelina shouting in the Great Hall. She took yet another 5 points when she found out Harry got into another detention.

  • During her ministry inspection with McGonagall, Umbridge kept interrupting her with her "hem hem" and Prof. McGonagall in fury told her "how you expect to gain an idea of my usual teaching methods if you continue to interrupt me? You see, I do not generally permit people to talk when I am talking."

  • Ginny had a boyfriend named Michael Corner whom she met at the Yule Ball.

  • Hermione casted a jinx on the DA parchment. Whoever signs on it will be cursed with acnes if they were to tell Umbridge about their secret meetings to learn Defense against Dark Arts.

  • Neville charged at Malfoy because he said the St Mungo's hospital (which Neville's parent is in) is for people whose brains have been addled by magic. Snape appears and put Harry, Neville and Malfoy in detention.

  • From the fireplace, Sirius told them Mundungus was the one who were eavesdropping on them at Hog's head when they were discussing about the DA, which made Umbridge put a ban on "illegal societies". This includes Quidditch clubs and Umbridge at first only gave Slytherins permission to practice.

  • Dobby is now working at the school for a small sum of money which Dumbledore agrees. Dumbledore wanted to pay him more at first but Dobby doesn't want to accept it. Dobby refused to work for free after he was freed by Harry. Dobby is the one who gave Harry the idea of the room of Requirement for practicing Defense against Dark Arts, not discovered by Neville like in the movie.

  • Harry always uses Lupin's parchment where it shows everyone on the map, to see where Umbridge and Filch is whenever they want to use the Room of Requirement.

  • Hermione said the Defense against Dark Arts secret class taught by Harry should have a name, to promote a feeling of team spirit and unity. "Anti-Umbridge League" is suggested by Angelina. "Ministry of Magic are Morons Group" is suggested by Fred. Cho suggested "The Defense Association", which is DA for short and everyone agrees. Ginny suggests making it stand for Dumbledore's Army because "that's the Ministry's worst fear".

  • Hermione enchanted coins which has numerals around the edge which is the date for the next DA meeting which will change whenever Harry changed the date on his. She got the idea from Death Eaters' scars burning whenever Voldemort needs them.

  • First Quidditch match is Griffindor vs Slytherin. The Slytherins sang this before the match "Weasley cannot save a thing, He cannot block a single ring, Thats why Slytherins all sing: Weasley is our King. Weasley was born in a bin. He always lets the Quaffle in. Weasley will make sure we win. Weasley is our King." which makes Ron even more nervous.

  • Ron let in a lot of goals but Harry got the snitch and won the match. Malfoy insulted Harry and the Weasleys and George wanted to punch Malfoy but was held back by Harry. Malfoy continued "you can remember what your mothers house stank like, Potter, and Weasley's pigsty reminds you of it" With the snitch in his hand, Harry punched Malfoy in the stomach. McGonagall wanted to give them detention but Umbridge appears and banned Harry and George from Quidditch for life. Even Fred is banned because Umbridge thinks he would do the same.

to be continued...

Things missing from the Order of Phoenix movie (Part II)

Important events left out in the movie.

  • Harry, Ginny and Neville met Luna Lovegood in the train, while Ron and Hermione are suppsed to be at the prefect carriage. She was holding the Quibbler upside down with her wand behind her ears. She was reading it upside down because "according to the magazine, if you turned the runes on their heads they revealed a spell to make your enemy's ears turn into kumquats."

  • The sorting hat always sing a different song every year and this time the important lines were "For our Hogwarts is in danger. From external, deadly foes. And we must unite inside her. Or we'll crumble from within. I have told you, I have warned you… Let the Sorting now begin."

  • Hermione asked if it has ever given warnings before, Nearly Headless Nick said "The Hat feels itself honour bound to give the school due warning whenever it feels."

  • Angelina is made captain of Griffindor's Quidditch team.

  • OWLs (Ordinary Wizarding Levels) will affect their career choices and Harry and Ron both wanted to be Aurors. Hermione wanted to take SPEW further. They had to do well in OWLs to take the subject's NEWTs (Nastily Exhausting Wizarding Tests) next year.

  • In Divination classes, Professor Trelawney wants the class to make predictions for themselves as homework. Harry and Ron made up rubbish accidents which they will have throughout the weeks and got high scores from Trelawney.

  • During Defends against the Dark Arts, Umbridge kept saying "your hand is not up" when students ask her questions. This is more annoying in the book than in the movie.

  • After given detention, and saying "Cedric death is not an accident, it was murder" to Umbridge, she write a letter and asked Harry to pass it to Professor McGonagall. At McGonagall's office, she told him "to be careful with Umbridge" and "Misbehaviour in Dolores Umbridges class could cost you much more than house points and a detention." and Umbridge has given Harry detention every evening that week and Professor McGonagall said Umbridge has every right to give him detention as a teacher.

  • Fred and George gave first year students joke sweets for testing which could get them out of classes by pretending to be sick. Hermione uses her "prefect power" to confront Fred and George but they said respectively "Put us in detention?" and "Make us write lines?" Hermione replied no, but said "I will write to your mother." Fred and George looked thunderstruck.

  • Hermione knits many hats and hoped House Elves from Hogwarts would pick them up and they'll be free like Dobby. Ron said "You're setting them free when they might not want to be free."

  • Professor GrubblyPlank replaced Hagrid while he's away as a Care of Magical Creatures teacher. She's a much better teacher than Hagrid.

  • During Harry's detention where he wrote lines and each line will make the words cut into the back of his hand as though by a scalpel. His skin will heal again leaving it more sore at every lines he wrote. Harry's scar on his forehead hurts again during detention. Remember this went on for every evening that week, unlike the movie. Because of detention, Harry struggles to finish his homework.

  • Ron went for the tryouts for Keeper. Harry is unable to be at the tryout because of detention. Harry went to their common room after detention to find Ron celebrating with the rest as the new Griffindor keeper.

  • Harry did not want to "disturb" Dumbledore because of the torture from Umbridge because Dumbledore would not look at him during the hearing and in Grimmauld Place.

  • Harry's letter to Sirius does not use straightforward words because of the fear of letters being intercepted. In his letter, he mentioned the same thing happened last summer happened again is referring to his scar hurting during Umbridge's detention.

  • As he went to sent the letter, he saw Cho in the Owlery. Filch appears and accuse Harry for taking orders of Dungs bombs. Cho defended for Harry. Cho praised Harry for being brave to stand up to Umbridge which made Harry very pleased.

  • Ron is always clumsy and did badly as a keeper during practises. But when he was with Harry alone, he did well.

  • The grades used in Hogwart's were. E=Exceeds Expectations. O=Outstanding. A=Acceptable. P=Poor. D=Dreadful. T=troll.
to be continued...

Things missing from the Order of Phoenix movie (Part I)

Important events left out in the movie.

  • Harry's scar has been hurting even in Pivot Drive, like when he was near Voldemort in Hogwarts in his first year.

  • Harry have been trying to read about Voldemort's news on muggle tv.

  • Harry knew Hermione and Ron are together with the rest of the Order while he's stuck at Pivot Drive.

  • When Darkness fell just before the Dementors arrive, Dudley couldn't see anything and thought Harry casted a spell on him.

  • Aunt Petunia knew what Dementors are, when Harry is trying to explain to uncle Vernon what happened. She says she overheard what James Potter told her sister years ago.

  • Back to their house, Harry received a letter of expulsion from Hogwarts from the ministry of magic as seen in the movie, but it doesn't speak, just a normal letter. Harry received a 2nd letter from Arthur Weasley saying Dumbledore is at the ministry of magic sorting out his use of magic, and asking Harry not to leave his aunt and uncle. Harry received a 3rd letter from the ministry of magic which says he will be attending a hearing instead of expulsion and he will be suspended. Harry received a 4th letter from Sirius asking him not to leave his house.

  • Harry told Uncle Vernon that Lord Voldemort, the one who killed Harry's parents is back, and wanted to chase him out of the house for their own safety.

  • A 5th letter is received but this time to Aunt Petunia. It was a howler which said "Remember my last, Petunia." With this letter, Petunia told Vernon Harry has to stay.

  • At Grimmauld place, Mrs Weasley objects to Sirius telling Harry Potter what the Order of the Phoenix are discussing. They made the other kids leave and told him Voldemort is trying to build an army, which is why Dumbledore recalled the order of the phoenix.

  • Hermione made a club called Society for the Promotion of Elfish Welfare, which Harry and Ron calls it SPEW, and are not interested.

  • Percy, one of Ron's brothers, fell out with the family. Percy who now worked in the ministry said his father had no ambition and they have always been poor.

  • Mr Weasley went to work as usual bringing Harry because of the hearing later in the day. At the ministry of magic, they were informed the hearing has been changed to earlier which made Harry late.

  • Percy came out of the hearing after Fudge, the minister without looking at his Dad who was waiting outside waiting for Harry for the good news.

  • Hermione and Ron were made prefects, but not Harry. Even Malfoy was made Slytherin's prefect.

Nano hacks

Got a refurbished iPod Nano and have been playing with some hacks with the firmware. I tried iPodLinux and Rockbox, and I prefer Rockbox minimalist interface. Here's 2 video I captured with my Macbook's webcam.

HAZE gameplay video

The developers, Free Radical, the people who made Timesplitters, called the game "Halo for Adults". It's obviously aimed at Halo with the name similar to Halo, starts with H with 4 alphabets. The game is leaded on the PS3 released later this year, and X360/PC version released next year.

Looking awesome!

Wangan Midnight for PS3

Yes-Asia has a cheap pre-order for this game. I've been to Japan last year and they are crazy over Midnight: Maximum tune, even more than Initial D. It's only US$38.

No idea what the game story is, the manga is not as popular as Initial D's tofu car story.

Logitech Free Pulse Wireless Headphones Review

I'm going to just do this with points form.

Pros
  • Light and stylish.
  • Uses Bluetooth 2.0 EDR which means up to 2.1Mbits (268kbps) of audio quality.
  • Receiver come with different casings made for different gens. of IPods.
  • Works with any audio device with 3.5mm audio jack. (for my Mac, PSP and PS3)
  • Relatively cheap for a wireless Bluetooth headphones. (USD99)
  • Some but infrequent interference compared to other wireless headphones. (got this from other reviews)
  • Up to 6 hours battery life.
  • Ability to adjust volume on headphones.
  • Includes a subtle Bass boost function.
  • Shuts off itself when there's no sound after a few seconds.

Cons
  • 1 size fits all means bigger heads will be uncomfortable with this.
  • Receiver doesn't fit well with a PSP. (I'm forced to use a short wire included instead.)
  • No microphone means you can't use this as a headset for phones and gaming.
  • Boost function a bit clumsy to enable. (needs to press both vol+ and on button together)
  • Uses proprietary charger instead of standard Usb.

Ninja Gaiden Sigma Japanese Ad

Hotttt!

General Motors VS Bill Gates.

At a recent computer expo (COMDEX), Bill Gates reportedly compared the computer industry with the auto industry and stated, "'If GM had kept up with technology like the computer industry has, we would all be driving $25.00 cars that got 1,000 miles to the gallon.'

In response to Bill's comments, General Motors issued a press release stating:

If GM had developed technology like Microsoft, we would all be driving cars with the following characteristics (and I just love this part):

1. For no reason whatsoever, your car would crash........ Twice a day.

2. Every time they repainted the lines in the road, you would have to buy a new car.

3. Occasionally your car would die on the freeway for no reason. You would have to
pull to the side of the road, close all of the windows, shut off the car, restart it, and reopen the windows before you could continue. For some reason you would simply
accept this.

4. Occasionally, executing a maneuver such as a left turn would cause your car to shut down and refuse to restart, in which case you would have to reinstall the engine.

5. Macintosh would make a car that was powered by the sun, was reliable, five times
as fast and twice as easy to drive - but would run on only five percent of the roads.

6. The oil, water temperature, and alternator warning lights would all be replaced by
a single 'This Car Has Performed An Illegal Operation' warning light.

7. The airbag system would ask 'Are you sure?' before deploying.

8. Occasionally, for no reason whatsoever, your car would lock you out and refuse to
let you in until you simultaneously lifted the door handle, turned the key and grabbed hold of the radio antenna.

9. Every time a new car was introduced car buyers would have to learn how to drive all over again because none of the controls would operate in the same manner as the old car.

10. You'd have to press the 'Start' button to turn the engine OFF.

NBA Street Homecourt Review

HE'S ON FIRE!

Many will remember the "He's on fire!" quote from NBA JAM, which was my favorite "crazy" basketball game. I did not play NBA Street from the series so this is my first Street game and I'm impressed.

Gameplay: 9/10
Ok. I'm not into NBA or Basketball, except I do play the sports sometimes but I'm not into Basketball simulation. I played the NBA 2k and live series before but it bores me. Homecourt is different. It's like NBA JAM, with crazy moves and dunks and no official rules. The controls are pretty easy to pick up and I'm finding more and more crazy moves each time I play the game.

I read that EA Big has redone the game from scratch and they took the street series, refined it but fans of the street series told me they've reduced the number of moves.

Apart from the usual way to score in a basketball game, you can do tricks which will increase this gamebreaker meter, and when you've reach the max, you can do a special where in this time limit, you can perform as many tricks as you can which will lead to additional points when you finally score. The thing is, when you're doing tricks, you're vulnerable with the ball being stolen and the opposite team can counter your gamebreaker. This risk and reward system works very well.

Graphics: 10/10
From presentation, models of players, environment to animations of the players, everything is top notch. This is truly a game to show off nex-gen graphics. I love the filter effects on the game as well.

Sound: 9/10
Not much to talk about the sound. Everything is great but the voices of the players are repetitive sometimes.

Value: 9/10
The game features a "career" mode where you play against challenges of other teams just like any other sports game. There's online mode as well and there's a mode where you can switch off the crazy moves and play a normal basketball game.

Final thoughts:
Homecourt is an amazing experience for me. Fans of the series might be disappointed because they redefined the game from scratch but at least rent it. For me, it's a must buy if you love games like NBA JAM.

Final Score 9.2/10

I posted this review in Gamespot's player review.
